This was a Long Beach housing project to many military veteran families. I spent my early childhood growing up there. For Japanese American (JA) veteran families returning after WW 2, it was welcome and necessary apartment housing. I am guessing there were maybe 500 plus JA families who lived there in from 1945. The neighbors came from diverse backgrounds. It later became the American Gold Star Mothers Home. There was one original two-story apt. building still existing in the 1990's, now used by maintenance. I hope it can be preserved as a significant pre and post World War 2 housing project for thousands of military families.
