Antonio's Mexican Restaurant has been around for many many years (70s?). It was on Melrose before Melrose was what is is today. The food is delicious (excellent Mole). The walls are covered with photos of Antonio posing with every celebrity in the biz - from Frank Sinatra to Jennifer Aniston. Antonio is still there, in his suit and tie, every day (except Mondays when they are closed). The space has been in various TV shows (entourage) and movies. The decor is classic and fantastic. Antonio has even made his own branded tequila (with a great photo of himself in his younger years on the label)! Definitely a must for any true Angeleno.
